July is here. As we celebrate the Semiquincentennial this July—the 250th anniversary of our country—I can’t help but reflect on what that milestone represents: community, hard work, and looking out for the people who call our neighborhoods home. It brings me right back to 1976 when I remember the Bicentennial—being in the 4th of July parade in Reynoldsburg on my banana seat bicycle, with crepe paper streamers weaving through my spokes and playing cards attached with clothes pins. We even painted fire plugs; it was definitely a “big deal” for someone who was 11. Today, while the celebration looks different, the spirit is the same—and it’s a reminder of why I’m proud to do what I do with you: listening to your needs, helping you plan ahead, and making sure you have the right insurance protection for what matters most.
